Soror Chrisette Michele is a Grammy Award-winning R&B, soul, and gospel singer, musician, actress, and songwriter who began singing at a very young age, entertaining her father’s church congregation at the age of four. While in high school in Long Island, she led her gospel choir as its lead singer. She earned a degree in vocal jazz performance from Five Towns College. She was discovered by India.Arie at an open mic night in 2005 and months later was featured on musical tracks for Nas and Jay-Z. Soror Michele earned a Grammy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance for her collaboration with Will.i.am. Her sophomore album “Epiphany” debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard pop and R&B charts. She has partnered with artists, including Drake, Rick Ross, George Duke, TD Jakes, and John Legend.

Although she has an introverted side, Soror Michele is a gifted speaker and a mainstay on national panels, including collegiate audiences at Harvard, Spelman, Temple, and Rutgers, to name a few. She has also been a featured panelist with NAACP, The Congressional Black Caucus, Girl Scouts of America, VH1 Save The Music, The American Heart Association, and lifestyle companies like BeautyCon NYC, The World Hair Show, and Essence. In September 202023, she was a featured TEDx speaker at Morris Brown College. Her subjects can range anywhere from women’s empowerment, jazz, and the evolution of Hip Hop culture to self-love and inner peace. Soror Michele is an entrepreneur by nature and owns her record label, Rich Hipster. A certified yoga instructor, Soror Michele tries to practice whenever she gets a moment or needs to recharge.

Soror Michele has also toured the world to support our troops overseas and is always eager to raise their spirits and show them our love and appreciation for their sacrifice through her music. Soror Michele is eager to serve with causes and programs aligned with mental health and Domestic Violence Program Initiatives, find ways to support our military, and work with our Zeta Youth Affiliates whenever possible.
