Welcome to GET ENGAGED™! GET ENGAGED™ was created under the 24th International President Mary Breaux Wright and now under the direction of the 25th International President Valerie Hollingsworth Baker, GET ENGAGED™ vision is to inspire, encourage, and empower the Sisterhood to take an active role, and to raise awareness on key issues happening in the community. Also, to cultivate a culture of mutual respect among law enforcement and the elected officials who work and represent our communities.
Since the founding of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in 1920 at Howard University, our Founders’ dared to be different by founding a sorority that would chart the course of action and raise the consciousness of their people. Now, 101 years later as we work in our communities, the GET ENGAGED™ mission is still to mobilize the sisterhood to take action against social injustices. We want to empower citizens through knowledge sharing while strengthen our relationships among elected officials, law enforcement and educators in our schools.
Through our GET ENGAGED™ programs your small actions can make a big impact in our communities. The GET ENGAGED™ team invites you to join the NAACP, hold voter registration drives, collaborate with NOBLE, elected officials, law enforcement and educators on things that affect our communities. Write your elected officials about the changes you want to see in our communities and injustices you witness. Please engaged in your communities so we can make a positive impact not only in our communities but the world!
