Zeta Organizational Leadership Program 2013 (ZOL) Conference a Huge Success!
Zeta’s national leadership conference convened July 18-21, 2013, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Over 1,100 members (graduate and undergraduate) and Amicae (Friends) attended intense training that was designed to enhance leadership skills in both Zeta Phi Beta and in their personal/professional life. This year’s ZOL Leadership Conference, experienced the largest attendance since the beginning of this national program in 2005. Over 800 participants alone were enrolled in the certification phase. Certification participants were exposed to an advanced study guide and had to complete a leadership behavior assessment prior to the conference.
Programs running concurrently at ZOL:
NATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE RETREAT
Our first National Undergraduate Retreat was held simultaneously, facilitated by Anjylla Foster, National Third Vice President. Members attended sessions that included such topics as “Advancing in Zeta”; Graduate and Undergraduate Relations…Continuing to Work”; Recruiting, Retaining, and Growth”; “Fireside Chat with the Grand”; “Chapter Management and Assessment”; Blazing the Paths”; “Fiscal Responsibility”; “MIP Certification” and “The Zeta Image”. The sorors were also involved in networking activities and case study assignments.
Zeta’s adult women auxiliary group – Amicae and their sponsors had an absolutely fabulous time in Indy! National Amicae Director Donnie Hull, along with her team provided an enriching experience for all. They attended training on Friday and Saturday with exposure to such topics as “Zeta Amicae Connecting the Past, Present and Future” and “How to be a Successful Auxiliary. On Friday night, a reception was given in honor of our “Friends”.
OPTIONAL TRAINING FOR ADVISORS/SPONSORS
An added component, to ZOL included training on Amicae Sponsors, Undergraduate Advisors and Youth Advisors. The meeting rooms were “busting at the seams” with sorors wishing to learn more about advising these groups.
