Regional Director Appointments 2018
Atlantic Regional Director
Most recently, Gina Merritt-Epps served Zeta as its first National Director of Risk Management, and drafted the first Risk Management Policies for the sorority and Amicae auxiliaries. She also served as the 13th New Jersey State Director, and previously was the Atlantic Regional Phylacter, and New Jersey State Phylacter. Professionally, she is an attorney and corporate governance professional.
Gina Merritt-Epps was initiated into Mu Eta chapter at Pennsylvania State University in 1987. She currently is an active member of Xi Tau Zeta chapter in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and is a Diamond Life Member and Founders’ Society Member. Outside of Zeta she is a board member of the Society for Corporate Governance and the chair of the Diversity Task Force; board member of the AtlantiCare Health System; and member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. She is married to Michael C. Epps, Esq., and the mother of Taylor M. Epps, and is the aunt of Soror Danielle N. Epps.
Charlisa Yolonne Davis
Eastern Regional Director
Charlisa Davis is a Diamond Life member who most recently chaired the “Precious Pearl Project” raising $20,000 to purchase and design the first historical burial site marker honoring Founder Pearl Anna Neal. In 2017, she was awarded the Zeta of the Year Award by her chapter Gamma Upsilon Zeta chapter, where she has served as the Basileus and Chair of the Executive Board. She has served on the national and regional levels across different committees and appointments, including the National March of Dimes Coordinator. For the past three decades she has been employed with Cumberland County Public Health Center (Fayetteville, NC) as an Environmental Health Program Specialist (EHPS).
Presently, she is an active member of Gamma Upsilon Zeta chapter in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and was initiated into Gamma Gamma chapter at North Carolina Central University in 1976. Soror Davis is an actively involved member of Evans Metropolitan AME Zion Church. Her community and organizational memberships include the National Environment Health Association; The Dr. Martin Luther King Committee; Rape Crisis; Second Chance Scholarships for HBCU’s and The Links Incorporated. She is engaged to Mr. Cornelius D. Manns of Winston Salem, NC.
Connie V. Pugh
Great Lakes Regional Director
Connie Pugh is the immediate past Illinois State Director, and has served in a myriad of appointed and elected positions within the sorority, including Basileus of her undergraduate and graduate chapters. She is a Life Member and currently a member of Xi Mu Zeta Chapter in Markham, Illinois. She was initiated into Zeta through the Psi Nu Chapter in 1990. Soror Pugh has also served in a leadership role with the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Chicago.
Midwestern Regional Director
Constance Harris has served in many elected and appointed regional, state and local positions, including the Midwestern Regional Election Officer, and the Phylacter of the state of Missouri and Kansas. She is a current member of Alpha Epsilon Zeta chapter in Kansas City, Kansas, and was initiated into Zeta at Langston University (Oklahoma), Lambda Alpha chapter in 1981.
Pacific Regional Director
In 2014, Soror Nazeeh was appointed to the Northern California State Director, and served as the Pacific Anti-Grammateus, and chapter Basileus. She is an active member of Iota Delta Zeta chapter in Hayward, California.
Southeastern Regional Director
LaWanda Harper most recently served as the Southeastern Executive Board chair and basileus of her chapter. She is an active member of Iota Omicron Zeta chapter in Belle Glade, Florida. Professionally, she is a regional math specialist with the Palm Beach County, Glades Region School District. Her professional membership affiliations include the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Florida Educators Association and the National Education Association.
Kathy R. Tatum
South Central Regional Director
Kathy Tatum is the immediate past Arkansas State Director where she spearheaded a successful Zeta license plate campaign to help build brand awareness and pride for the sisterhood. She has also served as the Arkansas Executive Board Chair, Chaplain and Antipokritis, as well as numerous chapter-level leadership positions. Professionally, she is a school counselor at Henderson Middle School in Little Rock.
The Diamond Life member is an active member of Eta Sigma Zeta chapter in North Little Rock, and was initiated into Zeta at the University of Central Arkansas, Gamma Eta chapter in 1982. Soror Tatum has been married to Gerald Tatum for 34 years, and is the mother of Janay Camille Tatum, and grandmother of Jordan Chanelle Brown. Her professional memberships include the American School Counselors Association and the National Education Association.
Keisha M. Beasley
Southern Regional Director
Keisha Beasley is a Diamond Life Member and has served the Sorority on all levels, including, but not limited to, Chapter Basileus (graduate and undergraduate), National Trustee and East Texas State Director. Since 2007, she and her husband have been the owners of SERVPRO® of Westfield, a company that specializes in fire and water cleanup and restoration services.
She became a member of the sorority in 1992 through the Omicron Theta Chapter at the University of Texas at Austin. She currently holds membership in Phi Iota Zeta chapter in Montgomery County, Texas. Soror Beasley actively attends Bammel Church of Christ. Her organizational memberships include the American Business Women’s Association and the Federation of Houston Professional Women.
